MSC practices a combination of organic
as well as strategic acquisition growth strategies.
Organic
Growth
Continuously
seeking to unlock the hidden layer of corporate value within itself,
MSC harnesses often overlooked or sub-optimised opportunities lying
dormant within itself and uses it to strengthen and reinvent itself,
increase operating efficiencies and provide customers and consumers
of tin with superior products and service.
In
this regard, MSC also aggressively deploys technological advancements
that may help it to achieve this end.
Strategic
Acquisitions
Prudent
and strategic acquisitions form an important aspect of MSC's growth
strategy. MSC seeks acquisitions which offer significant synergies
and strategic fit such as that found by its investment in PT Koba,
Marlborough Resources NL and Redring Solder - investments that will
afford long term sustainable growth for the MSC group. These acquisitions
enable MSC to broaden its scope of core businesses and strengthen
its global leadership position in both upstream and downstream sectors
of the world tin industry. At the same time it enables MSC, with
its over a hundred years' of experience in mineral processing, smelting
and resource management, to impart its knowledge and know how to
these new acquisitions resulting in mutually beneficial alliances.
