New Head for Tin Body Metal

Dato' Mohd Ajib Anuar, chairman of Kuala Lumpur Tin Market, has been appointed president of ITRI (formerly the International Tin Research Institute) in its 70th anniversary year.

Ajib, who is also CEO of Malaysia Smelting Corp group that includes PT Koba Tin, becomes head of ITRI's research and development body, Tin Technology.

Commenting on his new post, Ajib said he was confident that all the world's major tin producers would join ITRI, making it a "truly effective global organization".

The post of president was previously held by Fortunato Brescia of Minsur, Peru, for three years.
